Summary: A strange heritage ... a complicated affair Will detective Henri Patenaude solve this riddle? Anaïs Hervieux, an artist and freelance translator, leads a rather bohemian life in the midst of her dreams, aspirations and disappointments. Orphaned since her youngest age, she lived with her great-uncle Hector Langevin, a wealthy collector of works of art, for several years. On the death of the latter, she learns that for any inheritance, she is entitled only to a list of friends who, according to Langevin, will bring him truth and comfort. Curious, Anaïs goes looking for the friends in question. After a few meetings that bring her more questions than answers, she discovers one of the friends of the list in the living room of his apartment, lying on the carpet, in a pool of blood. Faithful to herself, she fled. Later, his meeting with the brilliant detective Henri Patenaude will allow him to understand that the events that shaped his life are not the result of chance and that if she wants to find her quiet life, she will have to defeat her old demons.
